Upendo is an African term that’s defined as Love. However, it’s rooted in the idea of a precious seed being educated into full blossom.

The Upendo House is a Creative Learning Center in South Los Angeles. It is based on a sustainable and scalable model with a social and cultural impact framework which is designed to cultivate communal healing through intergenerational knowledge exchange.

The Upendo House acts as a creative space developed within communities devastated by harm,trauma and incarceration.It is founded and ran by a Cultural Arts and Educational Collective driven by creating initiatives full of positive/loving experiences which elevate human consciousness and empowers healing,therefore behaviors that leads to self-discovery and independence.
