Every day in South Los Angeles, youth get pulled into the criminal-justice trap. Most did not arrive there by accident. They arrived through compounding trauma, fractured families, neglected schools, untreated mental-health needs, and the absence of relentless, neighborhood-level prevention that other communities take for granted. Once in the legal system, many of these youth have a difficult time steering their lives back onto a productive track. The result is system impacted youth and reentry adults striving to make sense of an ever evolving society they never were prepared to be a part of. And this is why HEAR ME OUT is imperative.

Our Mission
Hear Me Out provides holistic services with a focus on education, violence and gang prevention and social-emotional development. Our trauma-informed framework is applied through academic recovery, whole person care and court advocacy. By establishing a healthy family ecosystem aimed at breaking cycles of poverty, addiction, violence, and incarceration, Hear Me Out extends comprehensive services and programs to system-impacted youth, formerly incarcerated adults, their families and communities.
