Where Art Meets Healing: The C.Y.B.E.R. Initiative

Hear Me Out (HMO) launched the Cultivating Youth by Empowering Resilience (C.Y.B.E.R.) Initiative as a response to the growing need for holistic support for re-entry youth in South Los Angeles. Inspired by the creative ambitions of our community, C.Y.B.E.R. blends artistic expression, education, and community engagement to help young people rewrite their narratives. From the streets to our classrooms, we create a space where every participant is seen, heard, and empowered to thrive.

Who we are

C.Y.B.E.R. is a transformative initiative by Hear Me Out (HMO) that equips re-entry and system-impacted youth in Los Angeles with tools for healing, personal growth, and entrepreneurship. We provide a one-stop holistic hub for education, creative arts, technology, and wellness, building a pathway for young people to repurpose their lives and take the lead with wings. The C.Y.B.E.R. initiative is created and facilitated by mentors who were previously incarcerated in their youth who have returned to society to establish safe spaces and prevent/interrupt violence in their communities.

Meet the team

All initiatives in The Upendo House are executed through a community based collaborative. A unique collective of local professionals, experts in various fields of service, grassroot community and most importantly re-entry adults with lived experience.
